Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

I received an email from a viewer stating that Catherine’s new movie The Rebound is available to order in Australia. I have been browsing around looking for Aussie sites that has it an I have found a few, but I have no clue if they are a reliable place to order from since I am not familiar with stores from other countries. If anyone knows if anymore information about the dvd release in your country, please don’t hesitate to message me so I can report it for other fans to read incase they want to purchase it. So far that I know if, it isn’t available yet here in the states.

If anyone gets a hold of the dvd and wouldn’t mind making captures for Alluring Catherine, I’d be forever grateful. :)

Update: If you live in Australia or New Zealand, then you may purchase your copy of The Rebound from Sanity.Com.Au. Thanks to Janice for letting me know. ;)

CATHERINE & KIRK: MICHAEL’S STRENGTH

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

LAST week it was announced that Michael Douglas has cancer. Lesley-Ann Jones believes his greatest allies as he fights the disease are his feisty wife Catherine and tough-guy father Kirk

However good the Hollywood superstar’s cancer prognosis, however optimistic his specialists that he has what it takes to survive, what Michael Douglas has felt every day since his throat tumour diagnosis are the most basic of human instincts: fear and dread.

Despite the immortality of a screen legend’s image, despite the high-flying, risk-taking, hell-raising recklessness which go with the territory of the celebrity lifestyle, no amount of fame and fortune can buy life.

Despite what harrowing recent photographs suggest, however, the double Oscar-winning star of Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct and Wall Street, does have reasons to be cheerful, big reasons. Any optimism he now allows himself is thanks to the two most important figures in his life. One, his fiercely devoted second wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, 40, is the woman we would all want beside us when our oncologist imparts the worst.

“Catherine is one tough cookie,” says a friend of the New York-based couple who knows the Douglas family well. “What Catherine wants, Catherine gets. What she says goes. She rules that roost like some Shakespearean matriarch. Michael came to life the day he met her and he has never looked back. She woke all kinds of things in him he never knew he had. His very life now depends on her and he is letting her take control.”

It’s an especially fascinating relationship, says their friend, because Michael is now 65, a quarter of a century older than Catherine, who shares her husband’s birthday on September 25.

“I think a lot of us thought it was about Catherine getting the father figure. How wrong can you be? What’s happened is that Mike has resorted to quite a child-like state in a lot of ways since they married 10 years ago, which does happen to men especially as they age. While she has risen as this magnificently powerful creature, mothering her mate as well as her kids. Mike’s in very safe hands. Catherine has gone into overdrive to make sure he gets the best treatment, the best advice, the best of everything money can buy.

Catherine in the run for Liz Taylor biopic?

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Hollywood’s two leading ladies, have locked horns to play Elizabeth Taylor in a new biopic of her life. Taylor caused a scandal in 1958 when she fell in love with singer Eddie Fisher, who was married to actress Debbie Reynolds and left her to become
Taylor’s fourth husband.

Jolie, 35, is hoping that her notoriety will give her the edge. Like Taylor, she famously enticed Brad Pitt away from his wife, Jennifer Aniston, Daily Mail online reported.

Meanwhile Zeta-Jones, 40, has been obsessed by Taylor even longer than Jolie. She met the Hollywood veteran as a youngster in London.

The rivalry between Zeta-Jones and Jolie goes back some years. Zeta-Jones became close to Pitt and his then wife Jennifer Aniston, when she appeared alongside him in Ocean’s 12. But the actress was shocked when Pitt walked out on Aniston after an affair with Jolie.

— Remember this is just a rumor, so we don’t know if it is true or not. But I for one would love to see Catherine play Liz. I think she would be awesome! :)

Catherine Zeta Jones Wins Tony

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Catherine Zeta-Jones won best actress in a musical for her role in A Little Night Music, while Douglas Hodge scooped best actor in a musical for his role in drag in La Cage Aux Folles. It was a night that two acclaimed London theatres also scored big: The Donmar Warehouse for its Broadway transfer of Red and the Menier Chocolate Factory for its transfer of La Cage.

Zeta-Jones, scooping her diaphonous dress up and comparing herself to Cinderella, looked shocked and elated as her name was read out. “Oh my lord,” she said hoarsely, reassuring the audience her voice would return in time for her next performance on Tuesday.

She thanked director Trevor Nunn and her co-star, the “delicious and wonderful Angela Lansbury – I could never have imagined having a co-star of her calibre”.

Zeta-Jones, who performed Send In The Clowns from the Stephen Sondheim musical during the awards show, thanked her parents “for making me the person I am – and I do forgive you” and then suddenly indicated her husband, the actor Michael Douglas: “That’s my man, he’s a movie star and I get to sleep with him every night!”

Notices are reportedly up at the Walter Kerr Theatre that Catherine Zeta-Jones will miss the matinee today of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. The star previously missed shows on the 18th, 19th and 20th, but was back in last night (Friday). According to a production spokesperson, she will be back for tonight’s show.

Earlier in the week, a production spokesperson confirmed to BroadwayWorld.com that “Catherine Zeta-Jones is out of the show this evening – she’s sick and hopes to return to the production as soon as she is able.” These performances are the first that she’s missed since the run began.

Zeta-Jones’ understudy Jayne Paterson will be performing her role of Desiree Armfeldt.
