| Catherine Honored by Queen of England | Jun 13th, 2010 |
Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones and Formula One racing driver David Coulthard were among those awarded royal honors Saturday. Winter Olympics gold medallist Amy Williams and veteran musicians John Cale and Graham Nash were also named in the Queen’s birthday honors list. In a possible nod to the football World Cup in South Africa — where England were due to play their first match against the United States on Saturday — the goalkeeper in England’s shock defeat by the US in 1950 was also honoured. Oscar-winner Zeta-Jones was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). The Welsh screen siren, who is married to Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas, was recognised for her services to the film industry and to charity. |
